Ken Ring didn't predict the 22nd Feb earthquake

Postby mrracebase » Tue Mar 08, 2011 10:27 am

There's been a lot of stuff on the internet alleging Ken Ring predicted the earthquake that devastated Christchurch on 22nd February 2011.
This article deserves to be read :

Someone I know has just shown me Mr Ring's Weather Almanac for 2011.

This is what it said for Auckland for the last few days.
Mar 4 2011 (Derby Day eve) : Partly Cloudy, Fair. (It actually rained heavily in the evening)
Mar 5 (Derby Day) : Sunny, Warm. (Actual weather : It poured with rain in the morning and most of the day, Derby was run on a heavy track)
Mar 6 : Sunny, becoming unsettled later. (Actual weather : Unsettled, becoming fine later)
Mar 7 : Cloudy, showers, erratic gusts. (Actual weather : Brilliantly fine and calm)

This isn't much use if you're a punter !
